Build your 7 Grok Bots

Scan a Bot card, paste it into Grok Bot, then put it on a schedule.

Before your first bot

Half an hour of set-up that saves you later

STEP 1
Sign up on a computer

Go to x.ai/bot on the desktop or web. Your sign-in email can never be changed, so pick it carefully. A trial started in the iPhone app turns into a paid Apple subscription.

STEP 2
Set your spending limit to $0

grok.com/dashboard/billing → Billing & invoices → Additional usage credits → Monthly additional usage limit → Edit. Leave Auto Top-up off.

STEP 3
Turn Privacy Mode on

Cursor Settings (Cmd+Shift+J on a Mac) → General → Privacy Mode. Do it before you connect anything.

STEP 4
Lock down your own computer

In Grok Bot: Settings → Computer → Execution on this computer → Never allow. Then Settings → Bot → Timezone → Sydney, so 7am means 7am.

STEP 5
Add "Ask first" rules

Settings → General → Auto-review → Custom Rules → Ask first. Add one rule each for sending, deleting, paying and booking.

STEP 6
Make each bot the same way

Click + → Create a Bot. Paste its card. Connect its apps in Connect apps (a Google Workspace account needs your admin to trust Grok first). Run it by hand. When it's right, say Save this as a skill and run it every day at 7am.

The four rules

Keep your helpers safe

  1. One job per helperStart with one bot. Add another only when a job needs its own memory, its own permissions or its own schedule.
  2. Drafts until you approveEmails, quotes and orders wait for your yes. You press send.
  3. Give helpers their own email addressSuppliers and forwarded enquiries go there, so your own inbox stays yours.
  4. Money stays read onlyHelpers can look at invoices and payments. They never pay, refund or change bank details.
Before you hand it the keys. Grok Bot runs on computers in the United States, so keep customer personal information out of it. A bot that reads your inbox can also read sign-in codes, so connect one inbox with no confidential client mail. Every bot shares one cloud computer and the same logins. Usage runs out fast: start with one bot, run it once a day, and check the meter. Plans start at US$30 a month.
